Cergy City provides Hue with 25,000 Euros in support for natural disaster recovery

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of December 8, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh received and worked with a delegation from the city of Cergy (French Republic) led by Mr. Moussa Diarra, Deputy Mayor in charge of International Cooperation.

At the meeting, Mr. Moussa Diarra expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the leaders of Hue City and said he was impressed by the ancient and peaceful beauty of the former Ancient Capital. Sharing the city’s difficulties caused by the recent floods, he affirmed that Cergy is always ready to accompany and support Hue. On this occasion, the delegation presented 25,000 Euros in emergency assistance to help Hue overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.

Mr. Moussa Diarra highly appreciated the cooperation between Hue and Cergy over the past years, especially in the fields of culture, education, tourism, and traditional crafts. He noted that these exchange programs have laid an important foundation for the two sides to further expand their collaboration. He expressed his desire to strengthen tourism cooperation, considering it an important bridge in the context of Hue’s recent establishment as a centrally governed municipality. He also emphasized that Cergy hopes to develop a long-term and sustainable partnership with Hue.

Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his gratitude for Cergy’s concern and support for Hue during this difficult time. He affirmed that the assistance is a testament to the strong and friendly relationship between the two localities, and reflects the close ties between the people of Hue and the people of Cergy.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh stated that Hue always values and wishes to strengthen substantive cooperation with Cergy in the areas where both sides have strengths, such as culture, tourism, education, urban planning, and ecological transition. The city is ready to collaborate in implementing tourism promotion programs, destination marketing activities, organizing survey delegations, and connecting travel businesses to expand the two-way tourist market.

Hue’s leaders also proposed that the two sides develop a detailed action plan to implement feasible cooperation projects suited to the development needs of each locality. They also expressed the desire to enhance the promotion of the images of Hue and Cergy through exchange events, joint promotional activities, and experiential survey programs aimed at boosting the exchange of tourists and businesses.

The meeting concluded in a friendly atmosphere, reaffirming the commitment of Hue and Cergy to expanding their cooperative relationship and contributing to the sustainable development of both localities, as well as to the Vietnam-France friendship.
