Flight DZ6355, operated by Donghai Airlines as a charter service from Shenzhen (China) to Hue City, landed at Phu Bai International Airport at 20:10 with 120 passengers on board.
All passengers on the flight were welcomed by leaders of the City People’s Committee; the representatives of the Department of Tourism; the Department of Foreign Affairs; the City Police; Hue Monuments of Conservation Center, the Tourism Association; Phu Bai International Airport; the Middle Region Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport; and other relevant units. They were welcomed with flowers, commemorative gifts, and celebratory performances featuring Royal Court Music and vibrant unicorn dances.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, stated that within the city’s plan to develop tourism sources, the priority is placed on expanding both domestic and international air routes, including charter flights from various countries. One of the city’s priorities is the East Asian and ASEAN tourist markets. He added that the City People’s Committee has directed the Department of Tourism and relevant units to work closely with travel businesses to create suitable destinations and products for visitors. To better attract and retain tourists, the city will continue to focus on improving the quality of its products and services, including nighttime cuisine, walking streets, culinary tours, and music tourism. Hue Monuments of Conservation Center will also study and introduce new nighttime services to serve tourists in 2026.

Mr. Yan Shao Sen from Kwan Kin Travel Agency shared: “We are very impressed with the warm welcome from Hue City, and the airport procedures were handled very well. Other passengers and I on this flight have learned about, and we are eager to experience, the profound historical and cultural values of Hue City, including visiting the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, the beautiful Lang Co Bay, and enjoying Hue’s attractive cuisine”.
According to the plan of Donghai Airlines, the carrier will continue operating flights to and from Phu Bai International Airport in November 2025 and December 2025. This is a positive sign for Hue City’s efforts to expand and develop international air routes to Phu Bai International Airport after Terminal T2 was put into operation.

In the first 11 months of 2025, the number of visitors to Hue was estimated at over 5.8 million, up 65.3% compared to the same period last year; of these, international visitors were estimated at nearly 1.8 million, an increase of 40.9% year-on-year. Overnight stays were estimated at more than 2.2 million, up 19.1% from the same period last year. Tourism revenue was estimated at nearly VND 11,750 billion, an increase of 62.7% year-on-year. Chinese visitors alone totaled 18,199, ranking 12th among Hue’s tourist markets.
