Connecting Hue and South Korea via direct flights

The first flight connecting Hue to Seoul is operated in the form of charter flight by Vietjet's modern A321 aircraft, carrying locals and visitors from Hue Ancient Capital to Seoul, the capital of the "kimchi" land, and vice versa.

The charter flight departed from Phu Bai International Airport late on July 31 and early on August 1, with 228 passengers from Thua Thien Hue Province. Among them, there was a promoting tourism and the cultural heritage of Thua Thien Hue delegation, led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Member of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee. The delegation to South Korea was also accompanied by a traditional royal art performance troupe of Hue Monuments Conservation Center.

In South Korea, the delegation will organize a forum to promote tourism and Hue cultural heritage in Seoul City on August 4. In addition, the delegation will have meetings and working sessions with a number of cultural and tourism partners in the cities of Seoul and Geochang.

In the opposite route, a flight from Incheon (landing at the airport at 10:50 am on August 1) carried 151 visitors, a number of travel businesses and media agencies to Hue. They will carry out a 4-day 3-night program to visit and explore Hue Ancient Capital.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, participated in the welcoming ceremony for the delegation. The delegation will have a variety of activities to explore and experience destinations and products which had been researched and selected by Thua Thien Hue tourism sector and South Korean partners to be included in the program, specifically designed for the South Korean charter group in order to create a deep and memorable impression of the most unique royal cultural heritage values, as well as new imprints on the traditional foundation of Hue Ancient Capital.

New products will also be introduced to the delegation, which are associated with the form of relaxation and health care being formed in the locality.

The delegation will visit a space displaying and demonstrating the sewing of traditional Hue Ao dai, and at the same time will enjoy the typical forms of Hue cuisine. Some members of the delegation will also join a golf experience program at Laguna Lang Co resort by participating in an exchange tournament with Thua Thien Hue Golf Club.

Vice Chairman Hoang Hai Minh shared that tourism was identified as a key economic sector of the province, with the development of international and domestic air routes having been the province's strategy. This first charter flight connecting Thua Thien Hue with South Korea is expected to make a strong move to contribute to the recovery of the tourism source market of South Korea, aiming to have more charter flights from South Korea to Thua Thien Hue in the coming time. Besides, it will contribute to stimulating demand and promoting tourism development in the province; attracting visitors, especially international ones, to return to Thua Thien Hue.

According to Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, General Director of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, Hue - Seoul (Incheon, South Korea) is the second international air route that Vietjet exploits to T2 Terminal of Phu Bai International Airport. Previously, Vietjet was also the airline operating the first international air route to Phu Bai International Airport from Kunming (China), opening up opportunities to develop tourism and trade activities…

- In the coming time, Vietjet will continue to coordinate with the provincial agencies and Phu Bai International Airport to organize more flights, contributing to promoting the development of Thua Thien Hue tourism.
