Workers in the tourism industry are excited when they are given priority to get vaccinated

Being delighted

People in the tourism industry who are vaccinated on this occasion include members of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Tourism Association, the Travel Association, the Accommodation Association, the Tour Guides Association; employees at accommodation business units, 1 to 5 star hotels; members of management boards, cooperatives, self-managing groups and business households, employees at tourist destinations; employees at operating travel business units.

The indispensable people are tour guides who are members of the Provincial Tour Guides Association (with membership card) and tour guides of tour operators in the province; drivers and service staff on tourist transport cars with valid travel certificates.

As the unit with the largest number of employees and workers having got vaccinated this time, on June 18, 300 employees of Laguna Lang Co Resort (Loc Vinh, Phu Loc) completed the first injection. Currently, the health of the staffs and employees of the resort is stable.

Mr. Glen Cook, General Manager of Laguna Lang Co Resort said: “We are delighted and grateful to be one of the first resorts in Central Vietnam to launch the deployment of vaccination. This will create a safer working environment for employees and a safe service to visitors; at the same time, it helps to increase the confidence for visitors to travel again, be in time for the upcoming summer vacation."

Within 3 days, a total of nearly 4,000 direct workers in the tourism industry were vaccinated. All of them feel happy because they are one of the first priority vaccination subjects compared to many other professions. Workers in particular and the whole Hue tourism industry in general are ready to welcome domestic tourists and welcome international visitors back.

Mr. Le Dinh Huy, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Guides Association expressed that tour guides are those who directly interact with tourists. Being vaccinated not only helps each guide confidently serve guests, but also creates peace of mind for visitors. Hue is the first locality in the country where workers in the tourism industry are vaccinated. The recognition and assessment of the importance of the tourism industry to the province's economy is further confirmed.

Striving to vaccinate about 7,000 direct workers

Mr. Glen Cook said that the deployment of vaccination is extremely necessary to prevent the spread of the virus. But we cannot be subjective. We will continue to implement the pandemic prevention measures over the past time to ensure smooth operations, heading towards a new future and a safe tourism industry.

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Thuy Vy, Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association, said that the effect of vaccination on the tourism industry is very important. After vaccination, Hue tourism is confidently ready to return to serve tourists and soon restore its activities. Tourism workers feel secure, excited and more engaged with the profession. This creates a premise for proposing new policies and solutions to stimulate tourism when tourism is re-opened.

Recently, the Politburo directed a pilot study on the use of vaccine passports with international visitors to a number of tourist centers that have controlled the pandemic. This is a solution to consistently realize the dual goals of effective pandemic prevention and control while simultaneously developing the economy, taking care of people's lives, and protecting people's health.

The leader of the Department of Tourism said that with the initiative in pandemic prevention solutions, especially the 5K and vaccine solution, the Ancient capital's tourism industry is aiming to be the locality that can be allowed to welcome international tourists back as soon as possible. To achieve this goal, the tourism industry strives to vaccinate about 7,000 direct workers next time.

Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, said that tourism is a key economic sector, playing an important role in the province's socio-economic activities, so the Provincial Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control and Provincial People's Committee leaders are very determined to bring Hue tourism to operate soon.
