The story of five siblings training and competing in the same sport might seem unprecedented in Vietnamese sports, but it is a reality in a family from Quang Dien District, Hue City.

As scheduled, on the morning of February 7, thousands of locals and visitors flocked to the communal house area of Lai An village (also known as Sinh village), Duong No Ward (Thuan Hoa District) to watch the wrestling festival. The Sinh village wrestling festival is a traditional festival with a rich martial spirit, and over 400 years old in the Ancient Capital land.

On the morning of February 3 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), Thu Le village wrestling festival, in Sia Town, Quang Dien District, jubilantly opened. This is a traditional beauty of residents in the lagoon area of Quang Dien District every time Tet (the Lunar New Year) comes and the Spring comes.

There are more than two months left until late 2024, but it can be confirmed that Thua Thien Hue's women's wrestling has had a brilliant year of success with the top position in many leading national tournaments.

There have appeared many young wrestlers promising to continue the glory of seniors Nguyen Thi My Hanh and Nguyen Thi My Trang. That is viewed as a very heartening signal of Thua Thien Hue wrestling.

Vietnamese wrestlers grabbed big wins again at the SEA Games 32. Contributing to the achievements of wrestling had the merit of sisters Nguyen Thi My Hanh and Nguyen Thi My Trang from Quang Dien when together they successfully defended the championship won at the SEA Games 31.

On January 31 (the 10th of the Lunar New Year), the traditional wrestling festival of Sinh village, Phu Mau commune, Hue city attracted a large number of local people and tourists to participate and watch.

On January 30 (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year), the traditional wrestling festival of Thu Le village (Quang Dien district) took place, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate and watch. Attending was the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho.

Among the martial arts of the National Sports Festival, wrestling is one of the martial arts with many competing events. The organizing committee included 22 sets of freestyle wrestling medals (12 men's weight classes, 10 women's weight classes), 11 sets of medals for classical wrestling, and 12 sets of medals for traditional wrestling.

In order for Hue's high-performance sports to reap "sweet fruits", focusing on training gifted athletes and young athletes to create the next generation is the right strategy. Hue Sports does not choose to "cut corners"; instead, a long-term, methodical strategy is developed.
