Hue women's wrestling reasserts dominance at National Championship

HNN.VN - With excellent achievements at the 2025 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Championship, key figures of Hue City’s wrestling team continue to affirm their determination to conquer the peak at the 33rd SEA Games.

The 2025 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Championship took place from October 2-12 in Bac Ninh, gathering over 300 outstanding athletes from 15 teams from provinces, cities and sectors across the country, including: Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Hue City, Ninh Binh, People's Public Security, Army, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Ho Chi Minh City - Zone 2, Quang Tri, Hai Phong City, Hanoi City, Ca Mau, Hung Yen, and Lam Dong.

In the championship, athletes competed in categories such as classical wrestling, men's freestyle wrestling, and women's freestyle wrestling. After more than a week of competition, Hue City wrestling team impressively secured 3 Gold medals, 4 Silver medals, and 6 Bronze medals; of which, 3 Gold medals in women's freestyle wrestling belonged to three sisters My Hanh, My Trang, and My Linh. This achievement also helped Hue City wrestling team secure the first place overall in women's freestyle wrestling category.

Currently, My Hanh, My Trang, and My Linh are 3 out of 4 official athletes of Vietnam women's wrestling team participating in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of this year. Their excellent performance further affirms the form, capability, and determination of the three sisters from Quang Dien to conquer the peak at this SEA Games.
