The review and adjustment of Hue’s urban master plan to 2045, with a vision toward 2065, marks a pivotal moment for the city’s future development. As Hue has recently become a centrally-run governed municipality, the planning process goes beyond merely updating technical indicators or redefining urban boundaries; it opens an opportunity to redefine a long-term development vision for one of Vietnam’s most distinctive heritage cities.

On the afternoon of April 7, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held at the City People's Committee Office between Hue City People's Committee and the Pacific Construction Group (China), marking a new phase of cooperation in attracting investment and developing urban infrastructure.

On the afternoon of March 16, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, held a working session with a delegation from the Fundación Metrópoli (Spain), led by its founder and President, Dr. Alfonso Vegara Gomez.

On the afternoon of January 16th, a working delegation from Ha Tinh Province, led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, had a working session with the People’s Committee of Hue City to exchange and learn from experience in the management, investment, and operation of smart urban development models and modern, sustainable household solid waste treatment.

Just one year after becoming the country’s sixth centrally governed municipality, Hue City has begun a new and more dynamic development journey. A series of key transport infrastructure projects have been invested in and completed, contributing to a transformation of the urban landscape and opening up numerous opportunities for local socio-economic development.

On the afternoon of January 5th, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party conducted inspections and on-site surveys of several key transport projects in the city, including the proposed site for projects of the bridge crossing Con Hen (Mussel Islet) and its approach roads at both ends, of Nguyen Hoang Road, and of Ring Road 3.

The city has undergone a process of accumulation and infrastructure investment, transforming its urban landscape. Completed urban infrastructure projects have largely met the requirements for connecting the central urban area with satellite towns, creating momentum for the city’s socio-economic development.

The year 2026 opens the 2026–2030 period, marked by increasingly fierce competition to attract resources, talent, and visitors, while Hue cannot pursue rapid urbanization or heavy industry. Hue’s path must be its own: taking heritage, culture, landscape, and ways of life as deep, distinctive, and sustainable advantages; taking creativity and experience as driving forces; and placing the people of Hue at the center of all development policies.

On December 30, in Kim Long Ward, Hue City Project Management Board for Construction Investment and Urban Development held a conference to announce the Zoning Plan (1/2000 scale) for the Golf Course Tourism Area located in Kim Long Ward and Binh Dien Commune, Hue City.

Facing with the growing pressure of increasing household waste volumes, Hue is confronted with the need to renew its approach to urban waste management. In the context of the circular economy becoming an inevitable trend for modern cities, to reuse is not only an environmental action but also a strategy for sustainable development.
