Strengthening cooperation with enCity (Singapore) in heritage urban development

HNN.VN - On the morning of May 30, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, had a courtesy meeting with a delegation from enCity Joint Stock Consulting Company (Singapore). The delegation was led by Mr. James Chew, Director of Planning and Investment at enCity and former senior planning and development official at Singapore’s Ministry of National Development and the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

At the meeting, Mr. James Chew expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by Hue City’s leaders and highly valued the city's development vision for the new period. enCity commits to continuing to leverage its international experience to work closely with the city’s specialized agencies to research and propose modern planning solutions that harmonize heritage conservation with urban development, contributing to building Hue into a distinctive heritage city and a major regional and national hub for culture, tourism, science and technology, and innovation.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan warmly welcomed the delegation to Hue City. He highly appreciated enCity’s contributions in researching, consulting, and accompanying the city in developing the City’s Adjusted Master Plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

According to the planning orientation, Hue will focus on developing new growth drivers, with particular emphasis on the marine and lagoon economy, and the development of the cultural industry tied to heritage tourism and of the night-time economy. At the same time, science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation will serve as the key engines of development. The city is also reviewing and adjusting its planning system to ensure synchronization, creating favorable conditions for investment attraction, urban development, and the preservation of Hue’s unique heritage values.
