On July 22nd, 2026, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Official Dispatch No. 4538/BVHTTDL-DSVH to Hue City People’s Committee, expressing its support for Hue in preparing an application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of Gastronomy. This is an important step, providing further political and professional support for the city to concentrate resources, complete its application and work toward the 2027 selection cycle.

On the morning of August 21st, Hue Central Hospital, in coordination with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, opened the 14th Annual Hue Scientific Conference on Cancer Prevention and Control. The conference brought together more than 600 delegates, including over 30 international experts, speakers and lecturers, to exchange professional expertise and provide updates on the latest advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

More than 10 years after winning a prize at Sao Mai 2013, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tinh Uyen returned to a professional music competition and won the Gold Prize in the Vocal category at the Crescendo International Music Festival 2026. On July 20, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 7th Imperial City Eye Meeting 2026 (ICEM 2026) under the theme “From Fundamentals to Challenges in Surgery.” Taking place from July 20 - 22, the event brings together over 200 ophthalmologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from Vietnam and abroad to discuss the latest advances in ophthalmology, strengthen international collaboration, and enhance the quality of eye care services for the public.

On the morning of June 29, the 2026 professional training course for swimming and diving lifeguards officially kicked off at Hue City Sports Center, drawing nearly 100 participants, including officials and employees from agencies, organizations, and businesses across Hue.

On the afternoon of June 25, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University held a graduation ceremony and awarded graduation degrees to more than 1,100 new doctors, pharmacists and bachelor's graduates from full-time program 2026. The graduates belong to the 2020–2026 and 2021/2022–2026 cohorts across a wide range of health sciences programs, marking an important milestone in their academic journey as they prepare to enter the professional healthcare workforce. ​

On the morning of June 17th, Hue City People's Committee held a meeting and commendation ceremony for Hue Football Club following its achievement of securing one of the two direct promotion spots to compete in the National First Division for the 2026/2027 season. The event was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People's Committee. On the morning of June 16, Hue Central Hospital officially launched the 2026 “Comprehensive Orthodontics Training Course,” which aims at meeting the growing demand for updated knowledge and enhanced professional capacity among healthcare personnel working at medical facilities nationwide.
