On the morning of May 26th, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan led a field survey of the Tam Giang lagoon area, mangrove forests, and coastal infrastructure in the eastern part of the city to assess the potential for developing ecotourism and community-based tourism associated with conserving natural ecosystems and improving local livelihoods.

Compared to many other coastal localities, Hue’s sea possesses a distinctly unique beauty, gentle and captivating in its simplicity and softness. In recent years, that beauty has become even more alluring thanks to the new coastal road and the recently completed bridge spanning the Thuan An estuary. According to the leaders of Phong Quang, Phong Phu wards… in the early days of 2026, fishermen along the former Ngu Dien nearshore coastal area have continuously landed bumper early-season herring catches, generating substantial income after short fishing trips. As of January 21st, the total early-season herring output in the former Ngu Dien area is estimated at dozens of tons.
