One early morning, when opening the door, and you feel a cold breath rush across your face, that is when Hue starts entering winter. Before winter set in, the city endured consecutive, devastating floods; and, in that cold air, there still lingers the smell of fresh mud and the traces of things not yet put back in order.

Coming to Hue as part of the “2025 International Art Workshop and Exhibition”, artists immersed themselves directly in the heritage life of the Ancient Capital to find material for creation. Through their lens, the heritage appeared differently: vibrant, transformative, and ready to accompany contemporary art.

Out of a love for cultural heritage, Vo Tran Minh Thu, a 12th-grade student at Hai Ba Trung High School, has turned her passion for research into modern technological applications to bring heritage closer to the community, especially the younger generation.

Born in 1987, Pa Co man Nguyen Xuan Bay from Ra Looc village - A Soc hamlet, Hong Bac commune (now A Luoi 2 commune) came to traditional music with a pure, instinctive love. “I learned by myself, I felt for myself, and I listened the rhythms that echoed from village festivals, through the hands and breaths of the elders, then practiced on my own,” Bay shared.

Thanh Tien Paper Flower Village - the cradle of traditional paper flower craftsmanship - is not only a place that creates vibrant blossoms, but also a space where the essence of spiritual culture, skilled hands, and a deep love for national heritage are preserved and nurtured.

Already crowded on regular days, during the holidays they attract even more people who come to breathe in the fresh air and immerse themselves in the lush natural surroundings.

From rough, shapeless wood blocks, through a chisel and skillful hands, Mr. Cu Dai, residing in Ta Ay village, Trung Son commune, has breathed life into wood carvings, making them unique.

With consistent participation and numerous prestigious awards in music competitions, coupled with frequent performances in artistic programs throughout Hue, Phan Huy Thanh, singer, has made a profound impact on audiences. Particularly, the songs about Hue performed by Phan Huy Thanh are vibrant and youthful, such as "Cơm hến" (Mussel Rice), "Trai Huế" (Hue Boys), "Nón" (Conical Hat)... truly bringing a breath of fresh air, contributing to spreading and elevating the imagery of the landscapes and people of Hue to the listeners.

For Hoang Dang Khanh, city quarter is not just somewhere to go to and return, and the place of houses to live in; but is also associated with the breath and life, pampering the artist from Hue Ancient Capital with countless emotions.
