The 2026 National Short Course (25m pool) Swimming and Finswimming Championships officially kicked off on the morning of April 5th at Hue City Sports Center (2 Le Quy Don) in Hue, featuring many outstanding swimmers such as Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien, Thuy Hien, Pham Thanh Bao, and Nguyen Quoc, … the tournament promises intense, high-level competition with the potential for multiple new national records.

On March 28th, at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with the City Chess Federation and the City Sports Training and Competition Center, organized the primary school chess tournament for the 2025-2026 academic year, competing for Huong Giang Cup.

A ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27th, 1946 – March 27th, 2026), organized by the Department of Culture and Sports, was held on the afternoon of March 27 at the City Culture and Cinema Center. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, attended and extended congratulations and encouragement.

The crossbow shooting competition of the 10th City Sports Festival in 2026 kicked off on the morning of March 19 at the City Sports Training Center. This is the 13th out of 18 sports featured in this year’s Festival.

Securing a total of 747 medals of all kinds in 2025, including 76 international medals; having numerous coaches and athletes honored with prestigious titles; and leaving notable marks at the 33rd SEA Games and on the continental stage… have, to some extent, confirmed both the foundation and the prospects for a breakthrough in Hue’s high-performance sports in general, and the City Sports Training and Competition Center (the Center) in particular.

The petanque competition of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival officially opened on the morning of March 7th at Hue City Sports Center. Notably, the tournament features the participation of many athletes aged 70 and above.

According to Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, Huyen Tran Temple Festival for the Spring of Binh Ngo 2026, themed “Honoring the Ancestors - Sacred Imprints of Territorial Expansion”, will be held on the 8th and 9th days of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse (corresponding to February 24-25, 2026) at Huyen Tran Cultural Center (151 Thien Thai Street, An Cuu Ward, Hue City).

On the afternoon of January 15, the City’s Sports Training and Competition Center held a review and commendation ceremony honoring coaches and athletes who were awarded prestigious State titles and achieved outstanding results at the 33rd SEA Games.

On the morning of December 20 - 21, the Vovinam Tournament under the 10th Hue City Sports Games in 2025 - 2026 officially kicked off at the City Youth Activities Center. It is the eighth sport featured at this year’s Games, following traditional boat racing, karate, taekwondo, shuttlecock kicking, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has issued a document requesting Hue City People’s Committee to prioritize funding and assign Hue Monuments Conservation Center to continue reviewing the areas along the walls of Hue Imperial Citadel that are at high risk of blowing off.
