Hue has significant room for industrial development, especially as the city expands its development space. This was affirmed by Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Member of the Standing Committee of Hue Party Committee and Head of Hue Economic and Industrial Zones Management Board, in an interview with Hue Today Weekly on the advantages driving the growth of the city’s industrial sector.

On September 21st, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, received a delegation from Waseda University and the University of Tsukuba (Japan). The working session focused on research and implementation of a project on disaster prevention and control, and adaptation to flooding and climate change in the city.

On the morning of September 20th, the University of Economics, Hue University held the opening ceremony for the 2026-2030 course and welcomed more than 2,800 freshmen of the 60th cohort (K60). With these new students, the university now has more than 15,000 full-time students.

The 2026 Hue Unicorn Dance Festival officially opened on the morning of September 20 at the Sports Hall at 100 Pham Van Dong St. The event is part of the Autumn Festival activities under the Hue Festival 2026 program and is jointly organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Phu Xuan Ward People’s Committee.

On September 19, the A Dot Border Guard Station, the Command of the City Border Guard, coordinated with militia, security, and local order forces in A Luoi 4 Commune to help local people harvest rice in Cur Xo, a residential cluster in Huong Lam Village, as part of ‘The Day to Return to the Village’ program.

Since 1998, 32 artifacts or sets of artifacts have been returned to Hue from abroad, but only one of them was acquired through an auction. The other 31 were brought back through appeals for donations and connections with owners.

Beyond visiting heritage sites, enjoying local cuisine and exploring traditional crafts, residents and visitors to Hue now have more interactive and creative ways to experience the city. From getting acquainted with the handpan and making wagashi by hand to painting and crafting, … small-scale workshops are adding new ‘colors’ to the life experiences in the Ancient Capital.

On September 17, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang met with Vietnam Railways (VNR) in Hanoi to discuss a proposed steam train service on the Hue - Danang route, which would connect Hue’s tourism sector with destinations across the region.

Once a place where ferry crossings were part of everyday life, Thai Duong now has a more convenient road network for travel, transporting goods, and expanding livelihoods. The bridge spanning Thuan An Estuary is ushering this coastal village into a new phase of development.

Amid the changing pace of life, sidewalk coffee stalls continue to preserve a part of the memories of Hue’s working people. For more than half a century, Mr. Suu’s stall has remained a familiar spot for many locals and visitors.
