Students from Phu Bai High school researching the products

In terms of the projects of middle and high school students, the project “Tea, Green Sticky Rice, and Lozenges based on the Kim Thuy Luc Quan herbal remedy from the Nguyen Dynasty Imperial Medical Institute for respiratory health support” by the students from Phu Bai High school is the only project from the five projects of Hue City to make it to the finals.

In the fields of education, healthcare, culture, and tourism, the project of the students from Phu Bai High school introduces herbal tea bags, soluble green sticky rice, and lozenges based on the Kim Thuy Luc Quan herbal remedy of the Nguyen Dynasty Imperial Medical Institute; in which, the remedy aims to support the treatment of respiratory issues while meeting the required standards for soluble green sticky rice and lozenges. The products can also be served as supplement to aid in preventing and treating respiratory problems.

The project successfully developed an optimized extraction process for the Kim Thuy Luc Quan herbal remedy, adjusting factors such as temperature, extraction frequency, and duration to achieve the highest saponin content. From this, the students researched and developed the process for producing herbal tea, soluble green sticky rice, and lozenges.

As a result, the project’s products fully meet physicochemical and microbiological criteria, making them viable for commercial production and offering economic potential.
