Over the past few days, people from villages across Dan Dien Commune have been encouraging one another to visit the floating fish farms along the Bo River to buy fish in support of local farmers. Some families bought a few fish, others only one, but everyone said the same thing: “It’s just our way of sharing a little of their hardship”. That’s all they could do, as the recent floods had wiped out tens of tons of fish raised by families living along the Bo River.

The recent floods caused severe damage not only in lowland areas but also in mountainous regions. Local authorities are making every effort to repair infrastructure and supply food and clean water to isolated communities.

From October 29th to November 1st, Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company (HueWACO) have deployed water tankers for 30 mobile supply trips, serving nearly 5.800 households in isolated areas, promptly providing essential domestic water for residents during and after the floods.

To proactively respond to disruptions in water supply following the floods, on October 31st, Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company (HueWACO) urgently implemented a mobile water supply plan to promptly meet the daily needs of residents in heavily affected areas of Phu Bai Ward, particularly in the former Phu Son and Duong Hoa areas.

As many areas of Hue City are still submerged under water, warm lunchboxes prepared by women and kindhearted volunteers were delivered to residents in flooded neighborhoods and to patients in hospitals, bringing warmth and comfort to countless hearts as people continue to battle the floods.

Amid moss-covered rooftops and the quiet waters of the Huong River, or wandering up Thien An Hill, Vong Canh Hill, and into the tombs of the Nguyen emperors… a young woman with the nickname Hoang Trinh Phan has made a significant presence across social media platforms, sharing stories about heritage. Her “heritage storytelling” page has attracted thousands of viewers and followers, not only for her charm but also for the wealth of essential knowledge about cultural heritage that she brings to the public and the community.

On the morning of August 23, the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam” (TVA project), in collaboration with the People's Committees of Thuan An Ward and Phu Vinh Commune, launched 3 waiting lounges and free drinking water dispenser stations at Phu Thuan, Phu Dien, and Vinh Thanh beaches.

Spanning a total water surface area of more than 210 km², Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon system,consisting of three main lagoons: Tam Giang, Thuy Tu, and Cau Hai, is often praised as a natural masterpiece bestowed upon Hue. The Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon system connects to the East Sea via the Thuan An inlet (Tam Giang lagoon) and the Tu Hien inlet (Cau Hai lagoon). It is the largest brackish lagoon system in Vietnam as well as all of Southeast Asia with an incredibly rich and diverse ecosystem.

According to statistics from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Dien District, as of June 18, more than 2,377 hectares of rice and vegetables in the district remain submerged due to the impact of the recent floods.

A professional training course for swimming and diving instructors in Hue City is being held from June 16th to 20th at the Sports Center swimming pool. The course is jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports and Hue Help.
