The exhibition of winning artworks of the UOB Painting of the Year competition, which was held for the first time in Vietnam in 2023, has just opened at Le Ba Dang Art Center (Hue Museum of Fine Arts, 15 Le Loi Street, Hue City) on the afternoon of April 17.

In the green space of Da:me space coffee, an offline event with the theme "Ánh sáng kinh đô" (Capital City Light) for both professional and amateur photographers from Hue took place. The special guest of this event was Mr. Doan Quang, an experienced photographer of Hue origin who is currently working and living in Da Nang.

Inside the Hue Royal Palace heritage site, at Duyet Thi Duong Theater (the theater for the king, royal family members, and mandarins to enjoy traditional royal operas) stands a space exhibiting hundreds of tuồng (traditional Vietnamese opera) masks, which get tourists to stop to explore.

The Nine Urns, a national treasure located in Hue Imperial Palace, feature carved images of Vietnam that may be familiar to those who have visited the site. These images have now been recreated on wood by a group of skilled experts and artists using their unique and impressive techniques.

What was initially planned as a 3-month journey by Dr. Hattori Tadashi in 2002 eventually extended to over 20 years, taking away much from him but bringing light to over 60,000 people in Vietnam. He didn't take any salary, even using his own pocket money to cover expenses for financially-struggling patients and to support some Vietnamese hospitals with ophthalmic medical equipment.

My childhood was marked with the image of my mother stroking her ao dai flat before going out (Ao dai is traditional costume for women (and men) in Vietnam.) At that time, cloth produced in the country was cheap; my mother had many ao dai of different colors tailored. She wore ao dai everywhere she went on every occasion.

From Vietnam - Sweden Hospital in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh, 3 donated organs were transported to Hue and transplanted into 3 patients on April 2nd. This marks another record for Hue Central Hospital in cross-Vietnam organ transplantation. Thua Thien Hue Online has documented the speedy journey and efforts to save the lives of patients.

Two new publications, which are the volume 1 and the volume 2 of the book themed “Hue, the Magical Imperial City” under the project on "Establishing and developing Hue Bookcase" in 2024, are expected to be released on the occasion of the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024. The event is organized by Thua Thien Hue General Library.

On the afternoon of April 3, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong hosted a courtesy reception for the US Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Marc E. Knapper. The courtesy reception was also attended by the representatives of leaders from relevant departments and branches.

The Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange program, with the participation of hundreds of students from Japan and Hue, was organized on the morning of March 28 at 16 Lam Hoang, Hue City by the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in Thua Thien Hue province.
