Mr. Andrew Khan (left), General Director of Carlsberg Vietnam, pledged to continue accompanying and contributing to the sustainable development of Hue City.

At the meeting, Mr. Andrew Khan congratulated Hue City on becoming Vietnam’s sixth centrally-governed municipality.  He also shared insights into the company’s business and production development in general and specifically in Hue City.

Over more than 30 years of development in Vietnam, Hue City and the Central region have been a foundation for Carlsberg and the Huda brand since their early days in the market. In 2024 alone, Carlsberg Vietnam contributed approximately 30% of Hue’s total state budget revenue.

With its growth momentum and long-term business strategy in Vietnam, in 2024, Carlsberg Vietnam launched an expansion project for the Phu Bai brewery to meet increasing consumer demand in the Central region and expand into other parts of Vietnam. The brewery expansion is expected to be completed by mid-2025. This expansion will help Carlsberg Vietnam maintain its leading position in the Central region and continue playing a significant role in contributing to Hue City's state budget.

Carlsberg Vietnam is also actively involved in Hue's cultural and social activities, serving for many years as a platinum sponsor of the Hue Festival and supporting social initiatives such as assisting people in difficult circumstances and promoting sports activities in the province.  The company aims to help preserve and spread local culture and traditions while continuing to build a trusted and sustainable partnership with Hue’s government and residents.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong, highly appreciated Carlsberg Vietnam’s contributions, particularly in investment, economic development, and social welfare.  The Chairman stated that Hue is focusing on developing into a green, sustainable, and modern urban area. The city welcomes and facilitates strategic investors like Carlsberg to expand their production and business while working with local authorities on community initiatives.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong affirmed that the government would continue to support businesses in investing in the city. He expressed confidence that, with the company’s partnership, Hue City will continue achieving new successes in economic and social development, contributing to Vietnam’s progress in the new era.

From A Luoi to the Independence Palace

Whether by fate or extraordinary circumstance, within just 42 days, one tank company had the honor of participating in the liberation of all three major cities in southern Vietnam: Hue, Da Nang, and Saigon. The tracks of their tanks stretched over a thousand kilometers from A Luoi (Hue) to the Independence Palace, where they smashed through the gates and raised the victorious revolutionary flag atop the building, signaling total victory. That unit was Company XT4 of the heroic 203rd Tank Brigade.
