Often compared to a “land of a thousand pines” in the heart of Hue, the two hills of Thien An and Vong Canh consistently captivate visitors with their poetic, romantic scenery. Already crowded on regular days, during the holidays they attract even more people who come to breathe in the fresh air and immerse themselves in the lush natural surroundings.

Although she has chosen a reclusive life on the edge of Thien An forest (Hue City), just as the saying goes, “good wine needs no bush,” many international tourists visiting Hue have asked travel companies to take them to meet People’s Artisan Hoang Thi Nhu Huy so that they can converse with her and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.

After the country was reunified, the Pioneering Youth force transitioned to a new mission: overcoming the consequences of war and contributing to economic development. In response to the revolutionary call at that time, Binh Tri Thien Province and Hue City established two Pioneering Youth regiments tasked with surveying, building roads, clearing land, and constructing homes to welcome thousands of families from Hue to settle in the southern regions and establish new Hue communities far from home. Among the many resettlement programs, one new homeland for Hue people was founded nearly half a century ago: the Huong Lam New Economic Zone (NEZ), now part of Da Lay Commune, Da Huai District, in the southern part of Lam Dong Province…

On the evening of March 21st, Saigon Morin Hue Co., Ltd. held a ceremony to commemorate the 124th anniversary of the founding of Saigon Morin Hue Hotel. Attending the celebration were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City; and Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, Secretary of Thuan Hoa District Party Committee.

Nestled on Thien An Hill (Thuy Bang Ward, Thuan Hoa District), Thuy Tien Lake Park was once infamous among backpackers for its abandoned, eerie, and ghostly appearance after years of neglect. For a period, it became an unsafe stop for adventurous travellers seeking unconventional experiences in unfamiliar lands.

During the 21 years of resistance against American aggression, the Party Committee, the people of A Luoi in particular, and those in Western Thua Thien Hue in general, achieved many glorious victories on the legendary Truong Son Road - Ho Chi Minh Trail.

In 2024, Thua Thien Hue General Library digitized 25,610 pages of Han-Nom documents (Sino-Vietnamese Demotic), equivalent to 584 document items. This digitization effort was focused on the two districts of Phong Dien and Quang Dien.

2024 is a significant year in the process of developing Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed municipality according to Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo. Therefore, Hue City is focusing its resources and directing the implementation of key development projects to expand urban space, aiming to create connectivity between the city's North and South districts.

On November 30, 2024, the National Assembly passed the Resolution to establish Hue City under the Central Government from January 1, 2025, and the Resolution on the restructuring of district and commune-level administrative units of Hue City, in the 2023 - 2025 period. Hue City (under Thua Thien Hue Province) will be divided into two districts: Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa.

In 2024, Thua Thien Hue Museum of History welcomed 55,250 visitors to the museum and its affiliated historical sites.
