With over 120 kilometers of coastline and a vast lagoon system bestowed by nature, Hue is home to numerous attractive seafood markets, including Phu Hau Market and Ngu My Thanh Floating Market, and Vinh Hien Market… In this issue of Hue Today Weekly, we would like to take readers to the fish market of Thuan An through a series of photos taken by Duc Quang, a reporter, offering a glimpse into the vibrant daily life of a coastal fishing community.

According to the Director of the Management Board of Phong Dien Nature Reserve, Mr. Le Van Huong, on the afternoon of May 17, the reserve, in coordination with Vietnam Nature Conservation Centre, deployed a camera-trap system in a targeted area to monitor wildlife and pheasant species, aiming to record population data of general wildlife as well as pheasants in particular within the reserve. Through this effort, the team recorded the presence of multiple endangered and critically endangered species.

Many residents and visitors coming to Hue have chosen their own unique way to “escape the heat” by heading to the Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon system, where the vast expanse of water and breeze helps ease the oppressive summer heat.

On May 5, following the directives of the City People’s Committee and in line with Resolution 55/2025/NQ-HĐND, Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced a pilot program to verify eligibility for the beneficiaries of reduced heritage entrance fees via the e-ticketing system.

Over many years, the city’s economic and technical infrastructure system has received sustained investment and has gradually been improved. During the 2026 - 2030 period, the city will prioritize allocating public investment capital to complete a synchronized, modern strategic infrastructure system.

On the evening of May 1st, the People’s Committee of Hue City announced that, on the same day, the city’s heritage site system recorded the highest-ever number of visitors and ticket revenue in a single day. This result further affirms the strong appeal of Hue as a destination in general, and particularly during the April 30th - May 1st holiday.

More than half a century since the homeland’s liberation (March 26, 1975 – March 26, 2026), Hue’s urban landscape has undergone significant transformation, marked by newly widened roads, bridges spanning rivers and lagoons, modern urban zones, and an increasingly synchronized technical infrastructure system.

On the morning of April 28th, Hue Central Hospital held a ceremony to introduce the 3.0 Tesla MRI system - SIGNA Pioneer. Attendees included Mr. Pham Duc Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Council; Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee, along with representatives of various departments and agencies.

On the afternoon of April 2nd, at the regular March meeting, Central Party Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized that every policy decision must lay the foundation for long-term development. He also called for the entire system to implement solutions decisively and in a coordinated manner, striving to achieve double-digit growth in 2026.

Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon system in Hue City is the largest brackish water ecosystem in Southeast Asia, stretching 68 km, covering a total water surface area of approximately 216 km2. The area is renowned for its poetic sunsets, rich biodiversity, and serves as a popular destination for eco-tourism, photography, and enjoying local seafood specialties.
