On the morning of June 5th, at Duyet Thi Duong Theater in Hue Imperial Citadel, Hue Monuments Conservation Center organized an experimental performance program titled “Practicing Huế music notation and the interpretation method,” drawing the attention of researchers, artisans, and lovers of traditional music.

On June 5, the University of Education, Hue University, organized a graduation ceremony, conferring doctoral degrees on 5 researchers who completed their PhD studies and master’s degrees on 289 students who fulfilled the requirements of their master’s programs. Among the new doctoral graduates was a candidate from Laos.

On May 26, the Center for Social Research and Development (CSRD), in collaboration with Oxfam in Vietnam, organized the project launching workshop “Inclusive and Climate-Resilient Water Governance and Livelihoods in Vietnam” (IP3 Project).

On the occasion of Vietnam’s Science, Technology and Innovation Day 2026 (May 18), Hue city launched activities to honor outstanding scientists and present awards in science and technology competitions. Recognition and prizes serve as a bridge between scientific research and real-world life, helping to identify valuable new talents, products, and inventions that can be applied in real life to drive local socio-economic development.

On the afternoon of May 12th, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan chaired a working session on the progress and results of developing a project on special mechanisms and policies aimed at creating breakthrough development for Hue City.

Such is the title of a book recently released by Thuan Hoa Publishing House in late March 2026. The more than 20 articles included in the book are the result of a dedicated process of research, documentation, and fieldwork by its two authors, Nguyen Duc Loc and Le Thi Mai An (currently working at the Hue City Museum of History).

On the morning of April 6th, Hue city People’s Committee held the launch ceremony for the “Understanding Online Public Services on the Hue-S Platform 2026” online contest. Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee, along with representatives of departments, agencies, localities, universities, hospitals, research institutes, and the business community in the area.

Taking “made in Hue” salted coffee flavor far and wide is the aspiration of Pham Ngoc Anh Phuong (born in 1995), Co-founder of Alufa Technology and Trading Co., Ltd., through his investment in researching instant salted coffee product.

Ask the people of Hue what flower they love most, and most will likely answer: the apricot blossom. To put it more formally, “hoang mai” - yellow apricot, without a doubt. Don’t believe it? Come to Hue and see for yourself! There’s a whole movement called “Yellow apricot blossom in front of the entrance”; a completed research project on “Conservation and development of Hue’s yellow apricot variety (Hue’s Hoang mai)”; a scientific conference on developing Hue’s Hoang mai into a key local product, aimed at successfully realizing the project to build Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) into Vietnam’s yellow apricot homeland. My friend, journalist Minh Tu, even published a book called “In front of the house stands a yellow apricot tree”, which sold out instantly, was reprinted, and translated into foreign languages to great acclaim.

Along the coastal regions of Central Vietnam, especially in the city of Hue, seahorses are not only a supplementary source of income for many fishermen but also an indicator of a healthy marine ecosystem. As seahorse populations continue to decline, reproductive research models and collaborations between fishermen and scientific institutions are opening up new hope: preserving this unique species for future generations.
