Building Hue into a center for historical research befitting its status

HNN.VN - The City Historical Science Association set out this goal at its 7th Congress (2026 - 2031 term), held on August 25.

During the 2020 - 2025 term, the Executive Committee continued to prioritize membership building and development, and gradually strengthened the Association’s organization by improving quality and broadening its network of people working in history and related scientific fields. The Association now has 250 members across 14 chapters.

Over the past term, the Association hosted and co-organized more than 20 scientific conferences and seminars at the national and city levels, as well as thematic events.

For its 7th term (2026 - 2031), the Historical Science Association will continue to closely follow the city’s political tasks, promoting its role as a scientific-social professional organization in researching, preserving, and promoting historical and cultural values; providing consultation and social feedback; and participating in the development of guidelines and policies related to history, culture, and heritage.

The Association will continue building Hue into a reputable center for historical research nationwide, gradually integrating internationally, befitting the status of the Ancient Capital and Vietnam’s cultural and heritage center...

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang acknowledged, praised, and highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the Historical Science Association to the city’s socio-economic development.

Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang called on the 7th-term Executive Committee to strengthen historical research in line with the city’s new development orientation; focus on clarifying issues, figures, and events for which documentation remains lacking; and step up the efforts to collect, preserve, digitize, and utilize historical materials.
