Dressed in the traditional ao-dai, Professor Bui Duy Tam spoke about his passion for the ao-dai, and how he has preserved and spread this traditional cultural value during his years living far from home.

“Loi ca chau ngoc” (Precious Lyrics of Ca Hue) is a collection of Ca Hue (Hue Singing) repertoires collected and compiled by the poet Vo Que. This work is not only a product of the author’s passion for Ca Hue, but also the result of a serious working process.

Though in his seventies, Excellent Artist Tran Thao (Phu Xuan, Hue) has never spent a single day without nha nhac (court music). He teaches it in classrooms, passing on his craft in his small house and maintaining a nha nhac club for over three decades now. At a workshop themed “Hoanh Son Quan – Ngang Pass: Historical and cultural issues” organized by Ha Tinh Historical Science Association and the People’s Committee of Hoanh Son Ward on the morning of May 21, delegates agreed that experiences of conservation and value promotion from the Hai Van Quan relic site in Hue City could be applied to Hoanh Son Quan.

More than 3 years after the passing of folk artisan Cong Ton Nu Tri Hue, the one who kept the secret techniques of making royal armrest pillows of the Nguyen Dynasty, also known as the “trai dua” (armrest pillow-blocks), an exhibition dedicated to her titled “Wholeheartedly, with devotion” has been organized by young people.
