On May 4, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, on behalf of the leadership and people of Hue City, sent a letter of appreciation to valued domestic and international visitors who chose Hue as their destination during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday and the holidays of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1). On the afternoon of April 24th, the city’s Tourism Association, together with representatives of tourism enterprises, held a reception and working session with a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Consul General Alexander Dmitrievich Sidoruk. Leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.

On April 22, the project “Hue - A plastic-reduced smart city in Central Vietnam” project (TVA project), in collaboration with the City Department of Education and Training, organized the award ceremony and closing event for the “Global citizens, leading plastic reduction” contest.

Concluding the official visit to provinces in Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on the afternoon of April 12th, a delegation from Hue City led by Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, visited, held talks, and extended Bunpimay New Year 2026 greetings in Savannakhet Province. On the side of Savannakhet Province, the delegation was received by Mr. Daovone Xaysoulien, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Government, along with leaders of relevant departments and sectors.

On the morning of April 11th in Hue, Vietnam Neurointerventional Society held the opening of the 2nd National Conference on Neurointerventional, attracting a large number of leading experts and doctors from across the country. This is an important scientific event aimed at updating the latest advances in the field of neurointerventional, while enhancing professional exchange and promoting cooperation among medical institutions.

On the morning of March 31, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan had a courtesy meeting with the working delegation of Daewon Group (South Korea), led by Mr. Cheun Eng Sik - Group’s Chairman.

Along with nearly 76,5 million voters nationwide, close to one million voters in Hue City have just joyfully taken part in the Election Day on March 15th, 2026, achieving an outstanding result: 99,99% voter turnout in the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. Beyond the turnout figure, what stands out is the widespread joy and excitement across all regions, as well as the confidence and hope of people from all walks of life placed in a streamlined government, one with sufficient capability and strength to lead the country into a new era of prosperity, civility, and happiness. On March 19th, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung, along with members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, including Head of the Internal Affairs Commission Dang Ngoc Tran, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh, and leaders of relevant departments and sectors, held a working session to inspect the construction progress of boarding inter-level schools (primary and lower secondary) in A Luoi 3 and A Luoi 4 communes.

On the morning of March 20, at Phu An Secondary School, Hue City Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, organized the “Happiness for Children” communication program in response to the International Day of Happiness. The event drew the participation of representatives from various departments and agencies, local authorities, the school’s leadership board, parents, and 50 pairs of parents and students.

On the afternoon of March 18, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to review the city’s economic growth performance, along with growth scenarios for the first quarter and the whole of 2026. The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairmen of the City People’s Committee and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.
