During her trip to Hue, Ms. Sandrine, a French tourist, and her group were amazed by how green the city was. With admiration, she asked: “What has enabled Hue to balance economic development with heritage and natural resource preservation?”

On April 21st, a delegation from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a working session with Hue Monuments Conservation Center (HMCC) to discuss the National Target Program for Cultural Development.

It may seem easy to dream of a day when Gia Hoi “revives,” not only preserving its essence and cultural heritage values, but also seizing the opportunity for this ancient quarter to develop. The preservation of heritage values in this ancient quarter located east of the Hue Citadel, however, is facing many challenges and conflicts.

Along with regular cultural activities, Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center has collaborated with a number of units and organizations to implement meaningful cultural programs, including seminars and workshops related to the preservation and promotion of Buddhist cultural heritage.

Recognized as a leading unit in Vietnam and a model for the preservation and restoration of historical relics, on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day November 23, Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, shared fascinating insights with Thua Thien Hue Weekly about the journey to restore and enhance heritage values, contributing to making the Complex of Hue Monuments an attractive destination.

“Coloring heritage” and “Hue Art Memory Game” featuring traditional Vietnamese motifs from the Nguyen Dynasty are part of the “Heritage education” program for 2024, jointly organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and GEKE (German society for the Preservation of cultural heritage). The program is held at Phung Tien Temple in Hue Imperial Citadel and is entirely free for children.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has added 17 more heritages to the list of national intangible cultural heritages, including Hanoi Pho, Nam Dinh Pho, the Quang An lotus tea preservation craft, Sa Huynh pottery making craft, and more.

That is the topic of the workshop taking place on the morning of May 18 at the Intercultural Meeting Space (94 - 96 - 98 Bach Dang, Hue City).

On the morning of March 7, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting and awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of Thua Thien Hue Province" to Ms. Andrea Teufel, Chief Representative of the German Association for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage; and Ms. Kazuyo Watanabe, Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Children’s Care League.
