The year 2026, the first year of implementing Resolution 72-NQ/TW on breakthrough solutions for protecting and improving public health, marks a new turning point for healthcare in Hue City. Building on the strong foundation of Hue Central Hospital, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University; and a primary healthcare system undergoing comprehensive reform, Hue is steadily affirming its position as a center for advanced, specialized medical care, with a vision toward becoming a regional hub in Southeast Asia.

On the morning of December 22, a workshop was held in Hue City to launch the mission “Promoting human resource management for Vietnamese healthcare system, focusing on HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention and control”. The workshop aimed to finalize the plans, content, and implementation methods for scientific and technological tasks in the new phase, contributing to improving the operational efficiency of local healthcare system.

On the morning of December 19th, Hue International General Hospital Joint Stock Company held the inauguration ceremony of Hue International General Hospital at No. 15 Hanoi Street, Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City. The event took place in the vibrant atmosphere welcoming the 14th National Party Congress and was selected as one of the nationwide live broadcast sites, showing the scale, significance, and high expectations placed on this modern healthcare project.

On the afternoon of December 15, Hue City Department of Health organized a conference to transfer the commune and ward health stations, in their current condition, from the medical centers to the Commune-level People's Committees for management. This is an important step to implement the City People's Committee's decisions on consolidating the organizational model of grassroots healthcare, towards improving management efficiency and promoting the role of local authorities in primary healthcare for People.

On the morning of November 25, the Family Planning Association of Hue City held a conference to launch the Respond Project - a project aimed at enhancing access to reproductive and sexual health (RSH/SH) services and implementing new service delivery mechanisms for the community.

On November 19, Hue City Department of Health held a working session with a survey delegation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to study and collect information for the development of the project of “Central Vietnam Healthcare Network Development”. This is considered an important initial step toward forming a large-scale cooperation project aimed at strengthening the healthcare system capacity in the Central region.

Amid the complicated developments of recent flooding, Hue City Department of Health has rolled out a series of coordinated response measures to promptly relocate patients while ensuring the continuity of medical examinations, treatment, and public healthcare services.

On October 26, at Hue Central Hospital (Branch II), Hue Central Hospital, in collaboration with the Vietnam Young Doctors Association and Hue City Department of Health, organized the program “CAREME - Love Yourself, For a Healthier Vietnam: Cardiovascular - Kidney - Metabolic Screening” to provide healthcare for disadvantaged people in the area.

On October 17, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, in coordination with A Luoi Medical Center, organized a training course titled “Enhancing knowledge for school oral healthcare staff in 2025”, for school healthcare staff from the communes of A Luoi 1, 2, 3, 4, and A Luoi 5.

On the afternoon of September 30, Hue Central Hospital held a ceremony to announce the implementation of electronic medical records. This was a significant event, marking a new milestone in the digital transformation of healthcare, aiming towards a paperless smart hospital model. It was also part of the activities to celebrate the 17th Congress of Hue City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term and the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
