Literature and art enthusiasts in Hue are being on a journey to rediscover well-known short stories by Nguyen Huy Thiep, not through books, but through artworks of ceramic created by the writer himself and artists who admire him.

Bringing cooking into poetry is something the people of old time once did. And I, drawing from the treasure trove of proverbs and folk verses my mother passed down, have learned many rustic yet profound lessons about cooking.

The contributions and legacy of Diem Phung Thi - a sculptor, have left a profound impact on the global sculpting scene. Hue is fortunate that she chose to return and spend the rest of her life here, ultimately donating her artistic legacy to the city. Since then, many artists have come to visit, drawing inspiration and creating their own works as if they engaged in a boundless “conversation”.

On June 11, Hue City Library held an exhibition displaying the works from the children’s drawing contest under the theme “Ao dai and Childhood”.

More than 450 artworks by students were submitted to compete in the preliminary round of the 2025 Children’s Book-Inspired Drawing Contest with the theme “Ao dai and Childhood”.

Nearly 100 students from primary schools, art centers, and gifted drawing classes across Hue City came together to take part in an art festival themed “Loving Family”. The event was organized by Hue Museum of Fine Arts on May 17th at Ho Chi Minh Memorial House (Duong No Ward, Thuan Hoa District).

In the years from 1930 to 1937, painter Mai Trung Thu was appointed to teach drawing at Quoc Hoc High School. Here, his talent blossomed. Series of his paintings were born, depicting gentle Hue girls, the charming scenery of the Huong river and the temples and royal mausoleums. His paintings in Hue rendered him a solid position in modern Vietnamese painting.

A unique cultural space has just been introduced at Duyet Thi Duong Theater (Hue Imperial Citadel), drawing the attention of the public and tourists: the Exhibition Space for Hue Royal Classical Drama Masks.

Drawing from nearly 720 years of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan's heritage, Hue boasts a treasure trove of culinary excellence, offering a competitive advantage for tourism in the ancient capital. Becoming a centrally governed municipality brings Hue new opportunities, and alongside its fresh, vibrant identity, people will think of Hue as a culinary city where quintessence converges.

From 300 entries in the preliminary round, the organizers selected 50 works by 50 students to compete in the finals of the 2024 children's drawing competition based on books, themed: "Hue through childhood drawings."
