The traditional melodies of Vietnam and Western classical pieces in the choral concert “Qua cau gio bay” offered the audience an evening filled with deep emotions.

That was the theme of the national scientific conference organized by the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hue City, in coordination with relevant agencies, on the afternoon of September 25th in Hue City. The conference aimed to provide a deeper understanding of Hue’s core values, assess its achievements, analyze challenges, and propose strategic, breakthrough solutions for developing Hue into a green, smart, and sustainable city.

Together with the Huong River - Ngu Mountain, the conical hat and the purple ao dai of Hue Women are also a symbolic cultural combo that is deeply connected with the locals in the Ancient Capital. Through an interdisciplinary approach involving cultural anthropology, sociology, linguistics, and heritage studies, the project “Core elements that create Hue’s identity, a distinctive land in Vietnamese culture - once the Imperial Capital, a center of culture - religion - arts, and a symbol of deep-rooted traditions” seeks to clarify the role and value of Hue’s identity within the broader national culture. At the same time, it suggests directions for sustainable preservation and promotion in the context of modernization and globalization.

Slow travel is emerging as a popular trend among many tourists.
