Located 15 kilometers North of Hue City, Bao La bamboo and rattan weaving village (Quang Phu commune, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province) is a renowned traditional handicraft village.

With the ability to sing and skillfully use the traditional musical instruments, artisan Pi Ke Do, 50, Hong Bac Commune is also jokingly called “king of musical instruments” by the Pa Co people. He has spent more than 30 years researching, and crafting traditional musical instruments and has become an artisan in the most sophisticated musical instruments in A Luoi District.

On August 4, a traditional boat racing competition was held in Phong Hoa commune as part of a festival themed “Old Scent of the Ancient Village” in Phong Dien district in 2024.

On the afternoon of August 1st, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a conference to review and approve the results of the provincial science and technology project "Establishing, managing, and developing a certification mark (CM) for “Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge village market” of Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy town, led by the Office of Culture and Information of Huong Thuy Town.

About 40km north of Hue City, Phuoc Tich ancient village is located in Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district. This is the second village in Vietnam to be recognized as a National Artistic Architectural Monument in 2009.

On July 20th, the provincial Red Cross Society, Oxfam in Vietnam, and the New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi organized a summary workshop for the project “Post-COVID-19 livelihood recovery for female farmers in particularly difficult and for difficult communes in Thua Thien Hue.” The event was attended by Ms. Caroline Rachel Beresford, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam.

On July 11th, the People's Committee of Vinh Thanh Commune (Phu Vang) held a ceremony to announce the decision and receive the certificate recognizing Ha Thanh Communal House as a provincial historical site.

Hue people have a little joy in gathering family members, and relatives on weekends; this demonstrates the cultural beauty imbued with love. An Truyen village (Phu An commune, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue) is close to the city center but it still preserves the quality of a peaceful village. The “Romantic features in the ancient village”painting contest, organized by the project supportingViet Nam’s social impact business ecosystemin response to COVID-19 (ISEE-COVID) in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Investment, is currently running from June 30th to July 13th, 2024, at Phuoc Tich ancient village, Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district.

The ceremony to honor the holy spirit of Mrs. Tran Thi Dao, who contributed greatly to the construction of the Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge (Thuy Thanh Commune - Huong Thuy Town), took place on the evening of June 27th. The conclusion of the ceremony marked the official start of the “Countryside Market Festival” in response to Hue Festival 2024.
