Hue City aims to establish a smart tourism information infrastructure which is compatible with smart devices, contributing to ensuring a consistent management system and the utilization of cultural and tourism information among local organizations. This is the objective of the project to build a smart cultural and tourism Hue city, sponsored by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam).

With the number of visitors increasing by 5 - 6 times compared to that of last year, many beaches located from Hai Duong commune (Hue city) to Quang Ngan commune (Quang Dien district) are bustling. The potential for sea tourism in these places is expected to develop further thanks to the "advantages" satisfying visitors.

Along with the departure of a direct flight from Hue to South Korea, on August 1, the Provincial Department of Tourism coordinated with Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, SMC Hue Co., Ltd (South Korea), Phu Bai International Airport; the Provincial Tourism Association, and related units to welcome the first direct flight, connecting Thua Thien Hue with Seoul City (South Korea). This is also the first flight from Incheon International Airport (South Korea) to the new terminal of Phu Bai International Airport.

As part of the plan to stimulate tourism and service demand, Hue City is completing its infrastructure and implementing many solutions to develop the night-time economy to attract visitors.

There is a need to calculate the traffic directional distribution inside the Hue Imperial City scientifically and reasonably for preservation and development. Besides, it is needed to do research into the development of a waterway tourism system inside the Imperial City to create a tourist attraction…

On the evening of June 23, the Hue Lotus Festival 2023, themed "Lotus Beautifies Hue," was officially opened at Tinh Tam Lake in Hue City. The event is directed by the Provincial People's Committee and organized by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with LAATA Vietnam Limited Liability Company, with the participation of Hue Vietnam Organic Company Limited, Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, and several other businesses from both within and outside the province.

Tam Giang brackish water lagoon system is the Southeast Asia's largest, located 30 km from Hue City. The lush mangrove forest not only creates conservation areas for aquatic resources, helping the Tam Giang lagoon to put on a new color, but also protects the habitat from the impact of climate change, creating more livelihoods for local people, from fishing to community tourism.

A large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists attended the Buddha procession from Dieu De Pagoda (Bach Dang Street) to Tu Dam Pagoda (Su Lieu Quan Street, Hue City) on the afternoon of June 1 (April 14 of the Lunar calendar).

Taking advantage of the wild, wondrous, and charming beauty of nature, Thuy An Cooperative (in Phu Loc district - a district located south of Hue city) has exploited and built Fairy Stream into an attractive tourist destination for tourists from near and far.

According to statistics from Tiktok, as of April 23rd, 2023, hashtag #hue reached 1.2 billion views, hashtag #hellohue reached 24.8 million views, hashtag #huecity reached 33.8 million views, etc. Also, an increasing number of videos about tourist attractions and cuisines of Hue City created by domestic and foreign tourists as well as Tiktokers from Hue are appearing on this platform.
