On the afternoon of February 4, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, held a courtesy reception for a delegation from Champasak Province (Lao People’s Democratic Republic). The delegation visited, extended Tet greetings, and congratulated the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The delegation was led by Mr. Somboun Heuangvongsa, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Champasak Provincial Administration Committee.

Hue City People's Committee recently issued Plan No. 66/KH-UBND on February 3, 2026, regarding the implementation of the project “Developing tourism and tourism services for Hue City in 2026”. Notably, the city aims to welcome a total of approximately 7 - 7.5 million visitors in 2026, including 2.3 - 2.5 million international visitors, an increase of nearly 20% compared to 2025.

On February 2, the Command of Hue City Border Guard welcomed a delegation from Sekong Provincial Police of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Colonel Khamkhang Thongsa Vat, Deputy Director of Sekong Provincial Police, on a Tet courtesy visit on the occasion of Vietnam’s traditional Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 of Vietnamese people, on January 29th, a delegation from Sekong Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, paid a visit and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Hue City. As part of experiential education activities aligned with the national general education curriculum, on January 23, nearly 300 students from Hue University of Sciences High School for the Gifted visited the Museum of Nature in the Central Coastal Region (No. 5 Diem Phung Thi Street, Vy Da Ward) for study tours and hands-on learning experiences.

The “Restructuring the Tourism Sector to Meet the Requirements of Becoming a Key Economic Sector” plan, approved under Decision No. 1685/QD-TTg dated December 5th, 2018 by the Prime Minister, has established an important policy framework for the comprehensive renewal of the tourism sector. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with ministries, sectors, and localities, including Hue City, has focused on removing bottlenecks and gradually restructuring tourism products, visitor markets, and the tourism management system…

On the first day back to work after the 2026 New Year holiday, Hue residents were greeted with encouraging news: during the holiday period, the city was estimated to have welcomed around 85,000 visitors, a 25% increase compared to the same period last year.
