On the morning of January 21, Hue Central Hospital announced that on January 6, 2026, the hospital marked a significant milestone in Vietnamese medicine. For the first time, surgeons successfully performed a simultaneous surgery to remove two giant polycystic kidneys and perform a kidney transplant. This success not only opens up new hope for patients with end-stage renal failure, but also confirms the ability to master intensive organ transplantation techniques by Vietnamese medical teams.

Held for the first time in Hue City, the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025 (taking place from December 10th to 12th) not only contributes to honoring Vietnamese tea culture but also is expected to serve as an important starting point, laying the foundation for the formation of a profound cultural, artistic, and tourism-oriented annual event, helping enrich Hue’s identity and enhance its attractiveness.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) and the 80th anniversary of the education sector (1945–2025), Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training (DOET) of Hue City, had a conversation with Hue Today Weekly about the sector’s renewal requirements in the current period, as well as the growing role of teachers.

As Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20th) approaches, many teachers in flood-stricken areas are still busy battling natural disasters. Flood after flood, they persistently cling to their schools and classrooms, visiting each disadvantaged student to offer support and encouragement. In these difficult places, their work is quiet yet unwavering – just like their love for the profession and affection for their students, which never runs dry.

During their visits to educational institutions on the morning of November 20th in celebration of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, city leaders acknowledged the contributions of the units to the city’s education and training efforts; at the same time, hoped that schools will continue to promote their roles, innovate, improve teaching quality, and make positive contributions to Hue’s development in the new period.

On the morning of November 18th, a working delegation from the Central Youth Union, led by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, visited Hue City to congratulate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20th) and to give gifts to children and youth affected by the flood in Hue City.

On November 18, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung visited and extended congratulations to the staff, lecturers, and teachers of Hue University and the Department of Education and Training on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 - 20/11/2025).

In Hue, the cultural value of Vietnamese tea will be honored and connected through cultural exchanges among artisans, tea masters, and brands from Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam at Hue - International Tea Festival 2025, taking place from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025.

On the night of July 26, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the Vietnamese national team participating in the 2025 International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in the Philippines. Bui Hoang Dai Duong, a 12th-grade student from Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted won a Silver Medal.

Participating in the 55th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), held in Paris, France, the Vietnamese national team of five students all earned medals: one Gold and four Silver medals. Tran Le Thien Nhan, a student from Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted - Hue, was among the Silver Medalists.
