As reported by Hue Central Hospital, they have marked a significant milestone in Vietnamese medicine by successfully performing the first kidney transplant in the country using the LifePort hypothermic machine perfusion (HMP) system. This is a breakthrough in organ preservation technology, and opens a new chapter for Vietnam’s organ transplantation field.

On September 27th, the 11th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Research in Linguistics and Language Education took place at the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University. The event was jointly organized by the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University, James Madison University (USA), Guangxi Normal University (China), and Buriram Rajabhat University (Thailand).

The recent export of 18 tons of Hue specialty cakes (including nam cakes (flat rice flour cakes with shrimp topping), loc cakes (tapioca dumplings), and it cakes (glutinous flour round cakes)) to the USA by Hue One Food and Kinh Do Specialty Joint Stock Company, Thuan An, holds significant meaning, acting as a special cultural ambassador of Hue to the world, with the value of cassava plant.

On the afternoon of September 8, Hue Central Hospital held a discharge ceremony for pediatric patient Vu Quynh C. (6 years old, from Bac Ninh), who had just successfully undergone an allogeneic bone marrow transplant to treat Thalassemia. This was the hospital’s 11th Thalassemia bone marrow transplant, and notably the first case in Vietnam using marrow donated by the patient’s biological mother.

A kite originating from Hue, which has been preserved for nearly 60 years in a museum in the United States, was discovered by a Vietnamese restoration expert. Through numerous accompanying documents, together with a passion for cultural roots, that expert “told the story” about how the kite was ordered in Hue Ancient Capital, then taken all the way to the U.S., and became an artistic artifact, etc…. It was truly fascinating.

On the morning of August 22, in Hue City, Kinh Do Specialty Joint Stock Company in cooperation with Hue One Food Joint Stock Company held a ceremony of shipping the first container of Hue cakes to the U.S. market.

Stumbled upon the technique of indigo dyeing online by chance, like a twist of fate, a young couple, Dang Cong Bang (1996) and Pham Minh Nguyen (1997), were captivated by this age-old craft. They began exploring and experimenting, eventually creating their very first indigo-dyed pieces. This marked the beginning of Tiem Chi, a small studio the couple established with the hope of introducing others to handmade clothing and fashion items that they personally design and dye using the distinctive blue of indigo.

On August 8, Hue College of Tourism in collaboration with the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council organized the “Cooking with U.S. Chicken” competition.

On August 2, the Cardiovascular Center at Hue Central Hospital (HCH) hosted a specialized workshop titled "Ablation of Complex Arrhythmias Using RF (Radiofrequency) Technique". The event gathered numerous leading experts in the fields of interventional cardiology and arrhythmias from hospitals across the country.

On July 29, Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of Hue Museum of Fine Arts stated that the 8 paintings were created by 7 artists using various materials; in which, there were some paintings by artists whose works were already part of the museum’s collection.
