The first annual boat racing event of Thuy Thanh commune (Huong Thuy town) kicked off on the morning of August 30th on Nhu Y River (at the community tourism spot of Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge), marking the start of a series of activities to celebrate numerous important local events.

From a girl who could only help her parents with farming - growing rice and corn, Ms. A Lang Be has taken her opportunity to become a tour guide when the legendary Kazan waterfall in Doi village (Thuong Lo commune, Nam Dong district), considered “a natural breast”, bestows an eco-tourism site on the local community.

Hue City aims to establish a smart tourism information infrastructure which is compatible with smart devices, contributing to ensuring a consistent management system and the utilization of cultural and tourism information among local organizations. This is the objective of the project to build a smart cultural and tourism Hue city, sponsored by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam).

While Hue Imperial City and the mausoleums of the Nguyen emperors are remnants of a far-off dynasty, the old quarters of Bao Vinh and Gia Hoi are the unfaded imprints of inhabitants’ life of the ancient capital.

Developing eco-tourism sites associated with streams and waterfalls is one of the directions that Nam Dong district has been focusing on and will continue to exploit.

With the number of visitors increasing by 5 - 6 times compared to that of last year, many beaches located from Hai Duong commune (Hue city) to Quang Ngan commune (Quang Dien district) are bustling. The potential for sea tourism in these places is expected to develop further thanks to the "advantages" satisfying visitors.

Along with the departure of a direct flight from Hue to South Korea, on August 1, the Provincial Department of Tourism coordinated with Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, SMC Hue Co., Ltd (South Korea), Phu Bai International Airport; the Provincial Tourism Association, and related units to welcome the first direct flight, connecting Thua Thien Hue with Seoul City (South Korea). This is also the first flight from Incheon International Airport (South Korea) to the new terminal of Phu Bai International Airport.

In recent years, Hue tourism has been quite successful with a new type of tourism - sports tourism, especially running tournaments. However, Hue is a land that can develop other types of tourism, and music tourism is the great potential that needs to be awakened.

Many localities in the province are actively organizing photo contests and making video clips to promote Hue’s tourism and introduce its beautiful images of Hue culture, civilized lifestyle, environmental landscapes, and friendly Hue people who warmly welcome visitors and friends from both domestic and international destinations.

Promoting the potential and unique identity of each locality to build tourism products is a right direction. However, in the context of great challenges, a movement is required for tourist destinations to survive and develop, which need to change their approaches and perspectives in term of development so as to attract visitors.
