On the morning of August 11th, at Con Toc Park by the Tam Giang Lagoon, the People's Committee of Quang Dien District, in collaboration with Hue Citadel Runners Club (HCR), organized the second Quang Dien Half Marathon 2024.

The highlight of the Quang Dien Half Marathon is the route that passes through most of the famous historical sites and scenic spots of Quang Dien, a newly developed rural district, with golden rice fields and the lush green of mangrove forests along the Tam Giang Lagoon. Participants of the Quang Dien Half Marathon 2024 can stretch their legs along beautiful winding paths through the ripe rice fields, the picturesque waterways, and the warm, endearing countryside.

The Quang Dien Half Marathon includes three race distances: 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km. The marathon aims to promote the image, land, and people of Quang Dien through various media channels, particularly highlighting the historical, cultural, and tourism potential of the local area to people both within and outside the province.

Nguyen Xuan Hoa, a member of HCR, shared that the route of the Quang Dien Half Marathon is wonderful. Athletes can immerse themselves in the beautiful natural surroundings of ripe rice fields, rivers, and lagoons, making everyone feel connected with the stunning nature.

As with the first marathon, the organizers hope to use this event to promote the image, land, and people of Quang Dien and the area's historical, cultural, and tourism potential to people both within and outside the province. The marathon also serves as an opportunity to connect, interact, and meet other running enthusiasts, helping to foster and enhance the cultural beauty of the region.

The marathon aims to inspire and create a platform for running enthusiasts in Hue specifically, and the broader running community both domestically and internationally. Through the marathon, they hope to promote the area's image, tourism potential, and advantages to friends both within and outside the country.

With three race distances, the event is expected to attract more than 1,000 athletes from within and outside the country to compete. Through the marathon, the organizers will also award 30 scholarships to students in the district before the new 2024-2025 school year.
