This contest is supported by the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam”, which is sponsored by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Vietnam (WWF - Vietnam).

The contest had been launched in June 2024. Contestants had nearly 2 months to form and develop new ideas and initiatives to create products by recycling plastic waste that may arise in the tourism business process. There are ten initiatives and products entering the final round.

The contest aims to create a healthy, useful, and practical playground for students; increase interest and raise community awareness, especially regarding the reuse and recycling of plastic waste through creating recycled products and recovering plastic waste; and encourage students to apply solutions to save resources and protect the environment.

The contest also contributes to effectively promoting the propaganda, and raising the awareness among all students, staff, lecturers, and employees about the harmful effects of plastic waste on the environment and future generations. At the same time, it seeks the simplest and most practical solutions to reduce plastic waste, joining hands to build Hue Tourism College into a “plastic waste - free institution”.
