The 7-a-side Hue Premier League - Huda Cup 2025 (TPL-S5) kicked off on the afternoon of July 19 at Uyen Phuong Stadium (Tay Loc - Phu Xuan Ward). This is one of the activities under Hue Sports Festival 2025, organized by the City’s Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with Leano Group Travel Media Co., Ltd.

Noticeable was the opening of the oil painting exhibition by Hoang Nhu Thuy An at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center. Hoang Nhu Thuy An is Hoang Nhu Bua’s pseudonym, born in 1948, originally from Cau Hai (Cao Do) in Phu Loc, Hue, but currently living in Da Lat. The special thing is that all those paintings were painted after his stroke culminating in hemiplegia. He has learnt to paint with his left hand since then.

From scraps of fabric seemingly destined for the trash, two students: Dong Nguyen Nhat Minh (Grade 6) and Lai The Tai (Grade 7) from Khe Tre Town Secondary School (Phu Loc District) have assembled them into vivid collage paintings that tell the story of their village, inspired by a deep love for Co Tu culture.

With a keen sense for crop transformation, Mr. Truong Minh Toan (Ka Tu village, Huong Phu commune, Phu Loc district) boldly chose to cultivate Bo Chinh ginseng, a “demanding” plant but one full of promise.

Phuoc Tich is an ancient village located in Phong Hoa Ward, Phong Dien Town, Hue City. The village was established in 1470. Though small, Phuoc Tich boasts 12 river wharfs, symbolizing the 12 founding families who first settled the land. Along with the founding of the village, migrants from Đàng Ngoài (Outer Realm) who came to this land to make a living also brought with them the traditional craft of pottery.

The mountainous areas of A Luoi and Nam Dong (now Phu Loc District) possess a year-round supply of clean, naturally flowing water, making them an ideal environment for sturgeon farming. Capitalizing on this advantage, the local Agricultural Extension Center (AEC) implemented the “Application of Science and Technology to Develop a Sturgeon Nursery and Farming Model Based on the Value Chain in Mountainous Communes of Hue City” project, with the goal of successfully applying scientific and technological advances to sturgeon nursery and farming within a value chain framework.

On May 19, in Phu Loc district, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization of Hue City, in coordination with Hue Central Hospital and the People's Committee of Phu Loc district, organized the opening ceremony of the 8th “Red Journey - Red Drops of Hue” program in 2025. This event is part of a series of activities in response to the nationwide blood donation campaign – the Red Journey, towards the celebration of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

On the morning of May 14th, the People’s Committee of Quang Dien district held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of City-level historical site Classification for Ba To shrine, located in Quang Phu Commune.

To Co Tu people, the new rice welcoming festival plays a very important role in their cultural and religious life, highlighting their ethnic cultural characteristics, their knowledge and their outlook of life and the world. That is the conclusion by experts in the process of preparing the dossier for recognition of the new rice welcoming festival of the Co Tu people in Nam Dong, Phu Loc, Hue as national intangible cultural heritage.

After concluding Stage 9 of Truong Tien - Phu Xuan, the 37th National Cycling Tournament for Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup, themed “United Homeland”, kicked off Stage 10 on the morning of April 13th, starting from Hue City to Da Nang City. This year, the starting point was held at Phu Van Lau (Le Duan Street), instead of the usual location at Hue City Center for Culture and Cinema.
