Ho Chi Minh City supports Hue with 20 billion VND to overcome the consequences of floods

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of November 11, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Member of the Standing Committee of Hue City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, received a working delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai expressed sincere gratitude for the precious affection shown by the Party Committee, government, and People of Ho Chi Minh City. He stated that the timely arrangement of a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City to visit and encourage Hue once again affirms the traditional close relationship of “one root, one family”, serving as a great motivation for Hue to continue overcoming difficulties, recovering, and developing sustainably.

Providing further information on the damage caused by the floods in late October and early November 2025, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai affirmed that the Party Committee, government, and People of Hue City are making great efforts to overcome the consequences, sanitize the environment, and implement various solutions to soon bring the people's lives back to normal. He committed that, through the channel of the Fatherland Front, the support will be allocated transparently, effectively, and to the right beneficiaries.

After handing over 20 billion VND to Hue to overcome the consequences of the floods, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc affirmed: “This is the initial funding to help the localities rebuild technical infrastructure, including medical stations and schools, and support people in the flood-affected areas to quickly overcome difficulties after the natural disaster. Recently, Ho Chi Minh City has continuously implemented many timely, focused, and targeted support activities for people affected by typhoons and floods, according to the actual needs and conditions of each locality, and with the motto of being the fastest, most effective, and highest possible under the city's conditions. We hope Hue strives to quickly overcome difficulties, ensuring socio-economic development, and maintaining security and national defense.”

On this occasion, from the aforementioned 20 billion VND support fund, the working delegation from Ho Chi Minh City presented 300 million VND for the repair of Tay Loc Kindergarten; supported two households whose houses collapsed in Loc An Commune with 200 million VND; and provided gifts to 78 poor households in Phu Xuan Ward, each gift including a gift package worth 500,000 VND and 1.5 million VND in cash. They also provided support to 20 kindergarten children, each receiving a gift package worth 500,000 VND and 1.5 million VND in cash.

On the same day, the Vietinbank Insurance Corporation, led by Ms. Le Thi Quynh Hoa, Deputy General Director, Chairwoman of the Corporation's Trade Union, visited the Office of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City to present a board symbolizing 500 million VND in support for the people of Hue City to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.

Ms. Le Thi Quynh Hoa deeply shared the enormous damage suffered by the people of Hue City during the recent flooding event, hoping that they will quickly overcome the natural disaster's consequences and soon return to normal life. Over the years, VietinBank has dedicated thousands of billions of VND to social welfare for people in difficult circumstances across the country. The allocation of the fund to support the people of Hue City in overcoming the consequences of floods is also part of VietinBank's social welfare plan.

The leader of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City thanked the officers and employees of Vietinbank Insurance Corporation for their support and companionship, which provides additional motivation for the people of Hue City to stand firm against difficulties and soon stabilize their lives; and promised to work with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City to quickly allocate the support to right beneficiaries, contributing to quickly stabilizing people's lives after the natural disaster.
