Ngu My Thanh, a long-standing fishing village by Tam Giang lagoon (Quang Loi, Quang Dien, Hue City) has become well-known in the tourism community of the Ancient Capital, and it is recognized by the People’s Committee of Hue City as a community-based tourism destination.

Following the approval of the project to build a community-based beach tourism model in Hai Duong Commune, now in Thuan An Ward, Thuan Hoa District, by Hue City People's Council (formerly) in July 2023, the infrastructure in this place is gradually being completed, serving the sightseeing and swimming needs of locals and visitors, contributing to enhancing the economic value of the beach and lagoon.

On the morning of February 3 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), Thu Le village wrestling festival, in Sia Town, Quang Dien District, jubilantly opened. This is a traditional beauty of residents in the lagoon area of Quang Dien District every time Tet (the Lunar New Year) comes and the Spring comes.

Bridges connecting sea and traversing lagoons are constructed not only to finalize the inter-regional transportation infrastructure system but also to promote the development of coastal cities and satellite towns, fostering socioeconomic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

For those living near the Tam Giang Lagoon, it is common to experience several floods each year. While flood season provokes anxieties over the safety of lives and property, it also allows fishermen to increase their income because the rising water brings an abundance of economically valuable aquatic species.

On the morning of November 17, Kim Dong Publishing House in collaboration with Hue City Center of Culture, Information and Sports, and Club of Book and Hue Culture held a program “Hue people tell stories about Hue”, featuring an exchange with writer and journalist Phi Tan, the researcher Le Vu Truong Giang on the occasion of launching the book “Hue people tell stories about Hue” and “Students over the Tam Giang Lagoon”.

Just about 30 kilometers away, Quang Loi Lagoon is not far from the center of Hue City. It's located in Quang Loi Commune, Quang Dien District - a low-lying area rich in cultural identity. Covering approximately 800 hectares, the lagoon is part of the Tam Giang lagoon system. Following the flow of the waters, the lives of the people here are closely tied to the water as they engage in simple and humble fishing activities.

The second Quang Dien Half Marathon 2024 offers athletes the experience of running through paths surrounded by the golden expanse of ripe rice fields and the rolling waves of the Tam Giang Lagoon.

Hue people have a little joy in gathering family members, and relatives on weekends; this demonstrates the cultural beauty imbued with love. An Truyen village (Phu An commune, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue) is close to the city center but it still preserves the quality of a peaceful village. During the two days of June 8 - 9, impressive and unique paragliding performances took place in the sky above Tam Giang Lagoon and Quang Cong, Quang Ngan beaches (Quang Dien District), creating a sense of novelty and excitement for locals and visitors.
