Phu Bai Industrial Zone (IZ) is steadily affirming its role as a key growth driver of the locality, making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Phu Bai Ward and the city as a whole. Regarding investment attraction strategies, the building of a favorable business environment, and sustainable development, Mr. Le Ba Minh Hai, Chairman of Phu Bai Ward People’s Committee, shared some insights in an interview with Hue Today Weekly.

On April 22nd, a delegation from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) (the Federal Republic of Germany) visited, surveyed, and held a working session at Hue Industrial College. The event marks a new step forward in the college’s international cooperation in training high-quality technical human resources.

The Phui (“Freestyle”) Hue Gala (Phui Hue Awards) 2025 took place on the afternoon of March 28th at Hue Industrial College. On July 12, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Hue University (HUET) announced its new training programs in Microchip Design Technology, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology. This marks a significant step in the strategy to train high-quality human resources, anticipating the demands of scientific and technological development in the digital industrial age.

Investment promotion plays an extremely important role, contributing to attracting investment capital; forming industrial and export processing zones to serve the manufacturing of exports. With a favorable geographical location, open investment attraction policies, gradually refined mechanisms and policies for socio-economic development, etc., Thua Thien Hue has become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors.

Concerns about losing the “green” image of the heritage-rich ancient capital were prevalent when Thua Thien Hue province began developing industrial and economic zones (IZs and EZs) decades ago. However, through the province’s meticulous selection process, many of these zones have flourished, proving the right direction and significantly contributing to job creation and socio-economic development.

In a recent exchange highlighting the province's efforts to focus on infrastructure development, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the goal of investing in infrastructure, particularly in ports, industrial zones, and customs-free zones, to serve production and business development.
