On September 2, the first visitors officially experienced a combined journey by sightseeing bus and electric boat, connecting the Imperial Citadel with the Huong River via the Ngu Ha and the Dong Ba routes.

Amid celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the 37th Traditional Boat Racing - 2026 on the morning of September 2.

Mention Hue, and the Huong River comes to mind. Mention the Huong River, it is hard not to recall the arches of Truong Tien Bridge reflected in the water - a bridge that has witnessed the city’s many transformations through wars, natural disasters, and periods of damage.

A procession of boats taking part in the Hue Nam Temple Festival (Hon Chen Temple) traveled one after another from downtown Hue City upstream along the Huong River toward Mount Ngoc Tran, creating a lively atmosphere on the river.

On the morning of August 9, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh conducted a field inspection of infrastructure supporting waterway tourism development on the Huong River, inspected the city’s urban flood drainage solutions, and checked on the progress in addressing coastal erosion at Thuan An beach.

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), Hue City Women’s Union held a flower- and incense-offering ceremony on July 20 at the Memorial Stele to the women heroes of the 11 Girls of the Huong River Squad, and also visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and the former female soldiers.

On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026), Song Huong Magazine coordinated with Friends artists’ group held an art exhibition under the theme “The Perfume River and Friends” at No. 9 Pham Hong Thai St.

As part of the Lantern Festival under the theme “The Golden Light of the Dharma - Cultural Convergence, Spreading Peace”, thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, locals, and visitors joined in offering prayers before taking part in the ritual of releasing floating lanterns onto the Huong River.

As part of Hue Festival 2026, Hue International Music Week 2026 will take place from June 13 to 18 on the riverside stage along the Huong River, in front of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted. The event is expected to become a major highlight of the Summer Festival, bringing together artists, dance troupes, and art troupes from Vietnam and many countries around the world.

On the evening of May 18, along the bank of the Huong River - section between Thuong Bac Park and Truong Tien Bridge, the third edition of the community music program “Di mo, nghe chi?” (“Where shall we go, what shall we listen to?”) took place in a romantic atmosphere, drawing large crowds of locals and visitors.

Hundreds of people flock to the front of Linh Mu Pagoda as evening falls. They enjoy the sunset over the river with a panoramic view.

The afternoon tea and sunset viewing service on the Huong RiverwithMoon River Cruisesis attracting a lot of interest from both locals and visitors.

This activity also provides a novel playground for young people, and offers an additional attraction for visitors and the general public when stopping by the poetic Huong river.

If you wake up early at 4:30 a.m., take a walk towards the Huong river (Hue city). You will surely be incredibly delighted to admire the stunning sunrise over this poetic river.

The lotus lanterns placed onto the middle of the Huong River symbolize the first seven footsteps of the World-Honored One after his birth.
