Preserving the grace of Truong Tien Bridge

Truong Tien Bridge is now undergoing renovation through a journey of more than a century whose silhouette is reflected in the water of the Huong River. The renovation, which began in early June this year, focuses on treating corroded steel structural components, along with maintaining and repainting the entire structural system to preserve its operational capacity and extend the structure’s lifespan. Most of the work takes place after nightfall. As the last vehicles leave the bridge, barriers are put up, and construction lights illuminate the steel arches, teams of engineers and workers take up their respective positions along the bridge to carry out their tasks.

Since Truong Tien Bridge, Hue has had newer, wider, and more modern bridges. Yet, for Truong Tien, in a city that is developing day by day, preserving the bridge’s ‘soul’ is also how Hue holds onto the spirit of a heritage memory, so that wherever Hue people go, they will always recognize their hometown when they return.
