On September 19th, the Immigration Management Division of Hue City Police, in coordination with Kim Long Ward Police, returned a passport and belongings accidentally lost during a sightseeing trip to tourist Klimov Pavel (born 1973, Russian nationality).

On September 2nd, the Economic Security Division of Hue City Police reported that it had returned a lost mobile phone to Ms. Mii Uchino (born in 1999, Japanese nationality, a student at University of Tsukuba currently attending a seminar at Hue University).

On the afternoon of July 24th, Mr. Le Ba Minh Hai - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Bai Ward, presented a certificate of commendation to Mr. Tran Van Phi (born in 1999, residing in An Ha Hamlet, My Thuong Ward, Hue City) for his courageous act of rescuing a drowning child.

Noticeable was the opening of the oil painting exhibition by Hoang Nhu Thuy An at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center. Hoang Nhu Thuy An is Hoang Nhu Bua’s pseudonym, born in 1948, originally from Cau Hai (Cao Do) in Phu Loc, Hue, but currently living in Da Lat. The special thing is that all those paintings were painted after his stroke culminating in hemiplegia. He has learnt to paint with his left hand since then.

“Each journalist chooses their own path to delve deep into the field of words. I’m fortunate to be born and work as a journalist right in the sacred land of Hue Ancient Capital, a place rich in cultural values. Although Hue’s literary heritage is “tranquil and moss-covered”, to me, it is always captivating”.

“The failure at the 100-mile distance (equivalent to 160km) at the Vietnam Mountain Marathon in December 2024 has only driven me to set new goals in Ultra Mountain Marathon, with a strong resolve to rise from failure,” Nguyen Thi Ngot, a Hue-born runner ranked among the top 10 female amateur marathoners in Vietnam for the 42.195km distance, shared her plans for 2025.

In Hue City, the number of conductors is not high, and formally trained conductors are even fewer, with currently only one person: Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nhu Y (born 1987), who works at the Department of Composition, Conducting, and Musicology at the Hue Academy of Music.

In the years from 1930 to 1937, painter Mai Trung Thu was appointed to teach drawing at Quoc Hoc High School. Here, his talent blossomed. Series of his paintings were born, depicting gentle Hue girls, the charming scenery of the Huong river and the temples and royal mausoleums. His paintings in Hue rendered him a solid position in modern Vietnamese painting.

The generation of national literary writers born in the Year of the Snake in Hue left a notable mark with many respected authors. Each one brought their own distinctive qualities, enriching and beautifying the literature of the region, making the cultural identity of Hue even stronger. This became even clearer and stronger when Hue became a centrally governed city.

“Aside from the theme of Hue's cultural heritage, what impresses and moves me most while creating artistic photographs in this land is its people. Hue's people are simple, rustic, and have their identity,” shared photographer Hoang Quoc Vinh (born in 1986, Gia Lai), who was recently honored with an award for the outstanding artistic work about Hue for his photo collection “ Complex of Hue Monuments”, in an interview with Thua Thien Hue Weekly.
