More than just a place serving authentic dishes from the Ancient Capital, Hue Thuong restaurant in the heart of Osaka, Japan, has become a familiar gathering place for Hue natives living far from home. Growing up from the fields, steeped in rustic flavors of the countryside - “salty fermented vegetables, sour white eggplant”, yet it was not until my late forties that I first heard of mut ca phao (white eggplant preserves) from Hue. The humble eggplant, so familiar on simple family meals, appears here in an entirely unfamiliar form - a delicately beautiful preserves for the Lunar New Year.

The exhibition titled “HER-ITAGE - Restructuring Traditional Embroidery”, held in late September, left many emotions and beautiful impressions on visitors and Hue residents with bridal gowns that carry cultural stories. At the exhibition, viewers could see firsthand the delicate, creative, and soaring carvings, inlays, and cuts of Vietnamese traditional embroidery art shown on vivid patterns of bridal gowns, including Hue royal motifs.

On the familiar green chalkboard, under the skillful hands of Ms. Le Thi Loc Phuong, an art teacher from Tu Ha Primary School No. 1 (Huong Tra Ward), the heritage sites of Hue such as Ngu Phung Pavilion, Thien Mu Pagoda’s bell tower, or the graceful curve of Truong Tien Bridge gradually come to life. Each delicate stroke of white and colored chalk transforms the classroom chalkboard into a lively painting, evoking an image of Hue that is both serene and poetic.

Sipping tea is a delicate beauty of people in the Ancient Capital City. Especially Hue people have long connected their tea drinking with the Huong river _ the soul of the region.

Remaking second-hand clothes, a hobby with hand-embroidered patterns, or adding small, delicate fabric pieces is something many young people are enjoying. With just a few simple stitches, these techniques can transform an old outfit into something unique and stylish, capturing attention with its distinctiveness and personality.

By listening to the miraculous sounds of rocks, the young artist Nguyen Van Tien has allowed rocks to narrate stories of memories. Through his vibrant and delicate brushstrokes, the rocks have become conveyers of beautiful memories and memorable moments for many people.
