As Hue undergoes a strong transformation toward a sustainable heritage - culture - tourism urban model, developing the night-time economy has become a practical necessity. The question, then, is how Hue should approach the night-time economy in a way that is both effective and civilized, while still preserving the “essence” of an Ancient Capital.

On the morning of March 20, at Phu An Secondary School, Hue City Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, organized the “Happiness for Children” communication program in response to the International Day of Happiness. The ceremony of erecting the nêu pole to welcome Tết inside Huế Imperial Palace was recently re-enacted in accordance with the royal rituals of the Nguyễn Dynasty on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month. In the royal life of the past, the nêu pole erecting ceremony (also known as Thướng Tiêu) served as a signal that Tết had arrived. The word 'Tiêu' in Thướng Tiêu means 'the treetop,' symbolizing the highest and most visible point.
