As Hue City advances its development as a centrally governed heritage city, the need to fully identify and recognize the city's cultural, historical, landscape, and human values has become increasingly urgent.

Hue City's implementation of the project to develop Hue Central Hospital and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital into international-standard, high-tech medical centers not only opens up a new chapter of development for the two leading medical facilities but also elevates Hue's healthcare sector in the new era.

On July 20, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 7th Imperial City Eye Meeting 2026 (ICEM 2026) under the theme “From Fundamentals to Challenges in Surgery.” Taking place from July 20 - 22, the event brings together over 200 ophthalmologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from Vietnam and abroad to discuss the latest advances in ophthalmology, strengthen international collaboration, and enhance the quality of eye care services for the public.

On July 17, in Hue City, the Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony for its K31 (2025 - 2028) doctoral course in the Central region. This is the Institute’s first doctoral training course held in the Central region.

A highlight of this issue is the report on a delegation from Hue City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, led by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Head of the city's National Assembly Delegation, laid flowers and offered incense to commemorate fallen heroes at the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27th, 1947 - July 27th, 2026).

The People's Committee of Hue City has issued Plan No. 318/KH-UBND to implement the Action Program for carrying out the Politburo's Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture in the new era. More than a timely move to translate a major central policy into concrete action, the plan marks an important milestone, demonstrating that Hue is choosing the right path for its development in the years ahead.

On July 11th, Vietnam's Ministry of Health, in coordination with Hue City People's Committee, Hue Central Hospital, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, organized a free health screening program for more than 1.000 residents in Binh Dien and Khe Tre communes. The initiative aims to bring high-quality healthcare services closer to local communities, strengthen primary healthcare, and advance the goal of comprehensive health management for the entire population.

On July 10, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, and Head of the city's National Assembly Delegation, visited and encouraged personnel carrying out the collection of biological samples for DNA analysis at the Hue City Martyrs' Cemetery (An Cuu Ward).

On July 7, Hue Central Hospital announced that the unit had successfully removed a safety pin from the esophagus of a 9-month-old Kazakh patient.

On June 29 and 30, the Odonto - Stomatology Center at Hue Central Hospital, in collaboration with the Smile Train Vietnam, organized a comprehensive examination and consultation program for patients with cleft lip and cleft palate.

Up to now, the Museum of Nature of the Central Coastal Region has collected and is storing more than 4,500 specimens including many sets of samples of different species. Typically, geological and mineral samples, fish samples, forest wood samples, tiger, elephant, gaur samples, etc.

Taking place from August 16 to 24 at 15 Le Loi, Hue City, the 28th Northern Central region fine arts exhibition organized by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in collaboration with the Union of Arts and Culture Associations of Thua Thien Hue is a great and meaningful activity of regional fine arts.
