The forest will grow green

On the afternoon of June 24, the City People's Committee held its regular June meeting and a session to review the city's socio-economic performance during the first 6 months of 2026. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Party Central Committee Member, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People’s Committee.

Painter Mai Chau and the late painter Than Van Huy are two prominent figures in Hue's fine arts scene, leaving behind a legacy of works deeply imbued with Zen philosophy and a profound love for their homeland, Buddhism, and humanity. Their paintings possess a compelling depth, prompting viewers to slow down, reflect, and find a sense of serenity amidst life.

Hue City is the urban area with the highest density of trees in the country, with more than 64,000 trees lining its streets, parks, and lush green garden houses. These trees are cared for and protected by both local authorities and residents, beautifying the city while serving as a natural shield that brings a refreshing sense of coolness during the scorching summer heat.

On the morning of May 29, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the project “Hue - A plastic-reduced smart city in Central Vietnam” (TVA) project/WWF-Viet Nam, organized the event “From Check-in Green Hue to Plastic-Free Tourism - A Journey of Spreading”.

On May 22, the City People’s Committee, in coordination with the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) and WWF-Vietnam, organized the conference on “Unlocking Green Investment for Nature-based Development in Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon”, with the participation of representatives from Central and local ministries and agencies, international organizations, investment funds, and development partners.
