Although plum trees have been planted in A Luoi for a long time, only a few households in Lam Dot, A Luoi town, Trung Son, and Hong Kim, etc.… now still have them in the gardens and take care of this kind of trees.

The plum blossoms often bloom from the end of January to the end of February. However, due to the cold and rainy weather of this year, the blooming season will come quite late. Depending on the weather, the plum blossoms just flourish within 15 days or longer.

The fresh weather and climate in A Luoi are appropriate for the plum trees to grow. People here mainly grow this kind of trees as a way to embellish their living space; so, they do not put their mind to take care of them as much as other trees.

At present, just the people living along the road to A Lin stream grow plum trees in front of their houses. Some households grow them and sold the perennial ones to bonsai hunters.

Meanwhile, some people still grow a whole plum trees garden as a way to express their love for this kind of flowers. An example for this is the garden of Mrs. Ho Thi Thanh Xuan, 67 years old, living on Bac Son Street, A Luoi town. At present, she is having six over-10-year-old plum trees that have fruits and dozens of other saplings.

Mrs. Xuan said: “The whole garden is grown with Tam Hoa plum variety brought from the Northwest. Getting a chance to enjoy the beauty of the flowers and pick the fruits is delightful. Due to the narrow area of the garden, I’m going to move the saplings to the new location to make a new other plum blossom garden. Hopefully, after several years, there will be a new beautiful destination in A Luoi so that people can come to contemplate the plum blossoms”.

Together with Thua Thien Hue Online, let’s contemplate the plum trees in A Luoi Highland area:
