The Dream of Literacy

HNN.VN - For many women, life has been a long struggle to make ends meet, never having had a chance to experience a proper education. Yet, even as their hair turns grey and their hands grow rough from years of hard work, they remain eager to open their notebooks, carefully practice writing each letter, and shape their lips as they learn to read aloud, one letter at a time.

In recognition of their determination to overcome life’s challenges, through a series of photos taken by Hanh Nguyen, Hue Today Weekly this week would like to introduce to readers a literacy class attended by 22 learners in Huong So residential quarter, Huong An Ward.

Here, as the women slowly and carefully practice each letter, one realizes that while the opportunity to reach literacy may have come late in their lives, their desire for education has never been too late.
