Swimming in Huong river on summer

A lot of people are swimming in the Huong river

Originally, this section of the river has long been visited by members of the "Thank the Huong River" group to collect garbage on the river bank and in the riverbed, take care of grass and irrigate the shade trees with cans of water, etc. Then they immerse themselves in the river, like adding an energy source to start an early morning, or drive away their fatigue in the evening.

On the last days of June, nearly a hundred of old and young people have come here to "stay cool" in the long hot heat. Earlier, not many people knew about this section of the river until the day the  "Thank the Huong river" group has cleaned it, this poetic space spreads on social networks, many people felt surprised and have come  to this place.

Hurriedly wearing his 7-year-old daughter a life jacket, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Phong (Kim Long Street, Hue City) said that for nearly a month, at the time of the hot heat, her daughter and him came here to swim every afternoon. “The water of the Huong river is not only clean but also cool. This space is unexpectedly clean...,” Mr. Phong excited.

Not only Mr. Phong and the people around there but also many people from far away also come here to swim. As the afternoon progressing, the river bank was crowded with vehicles parking. People bring along the life jackets and plastic bags ... to swim as well as to teach their children to swim.

In a nearby corner, the members of the "Thank the Huong River" group huriedly water the trees on the river bank as well as collect garbage in the river. "The river gives me not only the cool but also the water, raising me every day... so I have to try to find a way to protect it," Huong Lan - a member of the group confided before joining herself in the cool water with everyone.

Of course, everybody swimming in this river section makes careful recommendations to each other to wear life jackets, watch each other, and absolutely do not discharge any trash.
