The event was part of the KMOLs training program series, an initiative by the University Medical Center aimed at developing a network of doctors, pharmacists, and nurses capable of delivering reliable medical communication, thereby contributing to raising public awareness in healthcare.

Speaking at the workshop, MSc. Dr. Hoang Thi Lan Huong, Second-Level Specialist and Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital affirmed: “When led by healthcare experts themselves, medical communication can serve as an effective bridge between medical knowledge and the public. KMOLs not only equip professionals with communication skills but also help transform the healthcare sector’s approach to community engagement in the digital era”.

The workshop received many valuable insights from various experts. Dr. Ngo Minh Tri, PhD, Deputy Head of the General Planning Department at Hue Central Hospital emphasized that communication is an essential component of the hospital’s sustainable digital transformation strategy. Meanwhile, Associate Professor Nguyen Hoang Thuan from RMIT University analyzed the role of technology and data within the HealthTech ecosystem, stressing that the professional voice of physicians is a key factor in building public trust.

From a practical perspective, MSc. Do Thi Nam Phuong, Head of the Communications Center at the University Medical Center emphasized that medical communication is no longer a supporting task but has become an integral part of modern medical practice. According to her, when doctors communicate effectively, they not only convey knowledge but also positively and humanely influence public health behaviors.

The workshop in Hue served as a connecting point in the KMOLs’ journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, with the participation of major hospitals and academic support from RMIT University. This series of programs is gradually building a network of healthcare professionals capable of establishing an effective presence in the digital space, contributing to shaping health-related behaviors based on scientific, honest, and responsible information.
